We are proud to announce launching the Annexin V Detection Series Products!

Annexin V is one of the most sensitive indicators for early apoptosis detection. In normal cells, the phosphatidylserine (PS) is located on the inside of the phospholipid bilayer of the cell membrane. At the early stages of apoptosis, PS is translocated from the inner to the outer leaflet of the plasma membrane, thereby exposing PS to the external cellular environment. The Annexin V, a Ca2+ dependent phospholipid-binding protein, can bind specifically to the exposed PS. Therefore, the nature of Annexin V binding to the PS exposed on the outside of cells can be used to detect the early apoptosis of the cells. Annexin V marked with R-Phycoerythrin (R-PE) is used as a probe to detect the occurrence of apoptosis using flow cytometry.

TransGen has now launched 4 Annexin V testing kits with different probes and dyes for early apoptosis detection using flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy. These kits are easy to operate, highly sensitive and specific, and are suitable for the detection of early apoptosis of the cells.

TransDetect® Annexin V-FITC/PI Cell Apoptosis Detection Kit

Propidium iodide (PI) is a nucleic acid binding dye, which binds tightly to the nucleic acids in the cells and stains the cells with red fluorescence. PI is impermeant to live cells and early apoptotic cells, so the combination of Annexin V-FITC and PI staining allows the differentiation among different stage of apoptotic cells and necrosis cells.

 Performance

Jurkat T lymphoma cells are treated with Camptothecin. After inducing apoptosis, follow the instruction as described above, and detected by flow cytometry, result is shown below.

TransDetect® Annexin V-EGFP/PI Cell Apoptosis Detection Kit

PI is impermeant to live cells and early apoptotic cells, so the combination of Annexin V-EGFP and PI staining allows the differentiation among different stage of apoptotic cells and necrosis cells. Compared with FITC, EGFP is brighter and more photo-stable. Because Annexin V-EGFP is a fusion protein with a 1:1 binding ratio of EGFP to PS, this kit can also be used for quantitative detection.

 Performance

Jurkat T lymphoma cells are treated with Camptothecin. After inducing apoptosis, follow the instruction as described above, and detected by flow cytometry, result is shown below.

TransDetect® Annexin V-PE/7-AAD Cell Apoptosis Detection Kit

7-AAD is a nucleic acid binding dye, which cannot pass through the normal cells with complete cell membrane and early apoptotic cells, but can stain the nucleus through the cell membrane of apoptotic cells in the middle and late period and necrotic cells.

 Performance

Jurkat T lymphoma cells are treated with Camptothecin. After inducing apoptosis, follow the instruction as described above, and detected by flow cytometry, result is shown below.

TransDetect® Annexin V-PE/TransDG Cell Apoptosis Detection Kit

Annexin V marked with R-Phycoerythrin (R-PE) is used as a probe to detect the occurrence of apoptosis using flow cytometry. TransDG is a fluorescent dye independently developed by TransGen. It is a nucleic acid binding dye, which cannot pass through the normal cells with complete cell membrane and early apoptotic cells, but can stain the nucleus through the cell membrane of apoptotic cells in the middle and late period and necrotic cells.

 Performance

Jurkat T lymphoma cells are treated with Camptothecin. After inducing apoptosis, follow the instruction as described above, and detected by flow cytometry, result is shown below.
