Product Details

TransDetect® Cell Counting Kit is a water-soluble tetrazolium salt-based kit for cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays. In the presence of the electron coupling reagent 1-Methoxy PMS, it can be reduced by dehydrogenases in mitochondria to a soluble orange-yellow formazan. The amount of formazan produced is proportional to the number of living cells. Faster cell proliferation, lower cytotoxicity and higher cell numbers result in deeper color intensity, which shows a good linear relationship with cell count. This product exhibits low cytotoxicity and does not interfere with subsequent experiments. Compared with MTT, XTT, MTS and WST-1, this method offers higher detection sensitivity and a wider linear range. It is suitable for applications such as drug screening, cell proliferation assays, cytotoxicity testing and tumor chemosensitivity experiments.
